"Opportunity and Excellence On and Off the Court" |
Matrix Fall 2010 and
Spring 2011 Tryouts
Eligibility to Play for Matrix
Under AAU rules, as long as you live within the Potomac Valley AAU District*, you are eligible to play for any team within your District, subject to meeting the age requirements for a given team.
For players in 8U-13U, each team may include three players on their team that live in an AAU District that borders their own district. New rules will be in place for 2011 for high school (14U-16U and Open); stay tuned for more details.
Therefore, as long as you live within Potomac Valley District, a girl is eligible to tryout for and play for a Matrix AAU team. So unlike FCYBL rules (the select league in Fairfax County), no zip code requirements apply to play for the Matrix.
* The Potomac Valley AAU District includes all territories within the:
-
District of Columbia
-
Counties of Montgomery and Prince George's in the State of Maryland; and
-
Counties of Arlington and Fairfax along with the cities of Alexandria and Falls Church in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Note: By AAU rules, each 8U-13U team is also eligible to roster 3 players from outside the Potomac Valley District.
